NASAL POLYP

Nasal polyp is a soft, painless, benign growth of the nasal mucosa.


Causes:

1. Recurring infection

2. Chronic sinus infection

3. Asthma

4. Cystic fibrosis

5. Sensitivity to certain drugs.


Symptoms:

1. Feeling of stuffed nose

2. Running nose

3. Postnasal dripping

4. Reduced sense of smell

6. Sleep apnea, snoring etc

Indicated Medicines:

1. Lemna minor - Postnasal dripping. Putrid smell or loss of smell. Crust and discharge abundant.

2. Teucrium marum - Crawling in nostrils, with lachrymation and sneezing. Chronic catarrh.

3. Kali nitricum - Polypus, worse right nostril. Sneezing, swollen feeling with itching.

4. Kali bichromicum - Pressure and pain at the root of the nose and sticking pain in nose. Discharge thick, ropy, greenish-yellow.

5. Calcarea carb - Dry, nostrils sore, ulcerated. Stoppage of nose, also with foetid, yellow discharge.
