Haemorrhoids

Haemorrhoids are swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus.

Cause - Exact cause is unknown

Risk factors :

1. Chronic constipation or diarrhoea

2. Obesity

3. Pregnancy

4. Low fibre diet

5. Poor posture etc.

Symptoms: 

1. Pain or discomfort, especially when sitting

2. Pain during bowel movement

3. Anal irritation or itching

4. Bright red blood on stool

5. Swelling or lump around anus etc.

Indicated Homoeopathic Medicines:

1. Aesculus - Haemorrhoids, blind and bleeding; worse during climacteric. Burning in anus with chills up and down back.

2. Aloe - Constant bearing down in rectum; bleeding, sore and hot; relieved by cold water. 

3. Hamamelis - Anus feels sore and raw. Haemorrhoids, bleeding profusely, with soreness. 

4. Nitricum acid - Rectum feels torn. Violent cutting pain after stool, lasting for hours. Piles bleed easily.

5. Nux vomica - Itching, blind haemorrhoids, with ineffectual urging to stool.
